Bio

Katerina Anastopoulou is a circus artist specialising in aerial disciplines and movement, currently based in London. Her journey into circus began in Athens in 2012 and quickly became both a creative outlet and a way of life. In 2018, she moved to London to study at the National Centre for Circus Arts, where she graduated in 2021 with a BA (Hons) in Circus Arts, specialising in Aerial Straps.

Katerina’s work is rooted in movement, connection and storytelling. She uses circus and physicality as tools to express emotions, personal stories and shared experiences. Her practice continues to evolve as she explores new ways of blending aerial and soft acrobatics, movement and natural flow, and creative expression.

Since graduating, Katerina has performed across the UK and internationally, both as a solo artist and within ensembles. Her credits include performing with MSC Cruises in Sweet and Stings (RWS Global, 2022), and with Gingerline in the immersive London-based dinner show The Grand Expedition (2024).

In July 2024, Katerina travelled to Montreal to further develop her aerial straps technique at the Académie de Cirque de Montréal, where she trained with renowned coaches Victor Fomine and William Bonnet.

Later that year, in November, she attended a week long hair suspension workshop in Belgium, led by Ingrid Esperanza and Movedbymatter. There, she discovered a new path for exploring the space between floor and air, a meeting point of strength, sensitivity and suspension.

Katerina loves working with dynamic movement, something that has deeply shaped her physical language in recent years.

Most recently, during the summer, she took part in a residency in Barcelona focused on contact improvisation and dance, organised by Ara en moviment. This experience helped her unlock new layers in her movement and offered her a fresh approach to how she connects with her practice and with the people she shares it with.

Alongside performing, Katerina is passionate about sharing her knowledge and love for movement. She teaches aerial classes and leads workshops in London and abroad, focusing on technique, flow and creative exploration.
